Our Faith in retrospect!

Our statement of faith serves as a reminder of the things we hold dear to us according to our profession (way of life) as a New Creation believer.  They undergird our rites of passage in the Lord Jesus Christ. Read below what we take solace in.

The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.

II Timothy 3:16 – “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for instruction in righteousness so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

…there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

I John 5:7 – “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: The Father, The Word (Jesus is the Word made flesh; John 1:14) and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

…in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.

Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, ‘which is translated God with us’.”

Revelation 20:4-6 – v4, “..And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” v.5, “…until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.” v.6, “…but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”

…in the blessed hope; the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming.

I Corinthians 15:51-52 – “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

…the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.

I John 1:7 – “…and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.”

Hebrews 10:19 – “19” Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,” “22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

…regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

Titus 3:5 – “5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

…the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.

Isaiah 53:5 – “…and by His stripes we are healed.”

James 5:15 – “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

…the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

Acts 2:4 – “4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

…in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 – “3For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 6That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 7For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 8He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.”

Jude 1:24 – 24”Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,..”

…in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

2 Corinthians 2:15-16 – 15””For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?”

…in a literal Heaven. A place where the righteous will enjoy everlasting life and bliss, in, in the presence of the Lord.

Hebrews 12:23 – 23”To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,…”

…in a literal Hell. A place of everlasting punishment and suffering, which will be the future abode of the wicked.

Psalms 9:17 – 17”The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
